Beau Riebe will be teaching Flight 101 & 102 canopy courses at Pacific Northwest Skydiving Center on the 22nd and 23rd of May 2021. “The Active Pilot” (101): Say hello to Joe Jumper, our fully animated, three dimensional, pilot! Joe, along with your Flight-1 Instructor, will introduce the fundamentals of canopy flight to ensure consistent, soft landings. Together, they will ensure you fully understand the correct flare technique and develop the ability to debrief personal performance. The course re-defines flight planning using modern techniques and tools, to give you confidence in your accuracy. “Developing Our Range” (102): Joe Jumper takes you through a series of in-air exercises to explore the complete range of the canopy. You will be given more safety and survival tools, including controlled turns using different inputs, dive recoveries and how to deal with a long spot. Experience and preparation for emergency situations in differing conditions is the key to this course. AND...THAT'S NOT ALL!! NEED YOUR B-LICENSE? Flight 101 & 102 courses satisfy the requirements for USPA's Canopy Piloting Proficiency Card for your B license and go way above and beyond them. Beau Riebe will be teaching Flight -1 201 & 202 Canopy Courses at Pacific Northwest Skydiving Center on the 12th and 13th of June 2021. “Managing Airspeed” (201) A must for all pilots regardless of experience! Inevitably all pilots at some point have to deal with different airspeeds close to ground. How will you react? Will you react correctly? The course highlights how different airspeeds are controlled safely for each situation and provides the know-how required to react correctly. This course is also a must if you intend to move into more advanced landings. **REQUIREMENT TO TAKE FLIGHT 201: Minimum of 200 jumps** We also highly recommend to have completed & attended Flight 101 and 102. “Inducing Airspeed” (202) All pilots need to increase airspeed at some point to land safely. The first experience of this should never be in a high stress situation close to the ground! Whilst highlighting possible scenarios, the course provides essential knowledge including methods of building airspeed and how to avoid the pitfalls. For those interested in, or already doing high performance. **REQUIREMENT TO TAKE FLIGHT 202: Minimum of 200 jumps **RECOMMENDATION TO TAKE FLIGHT 202: Completed Flight 201 and 500 jumps.
