USPA Staff / Wednesday, August 4, 2021 / Categories: Homepage USPA PIA Cancels Symposium; USPA Reschedules Standardization Meeting and STAR Awards Due to the Parachute Industry Association cancelling it's symposium, USPA is rescheduling the upcoming Standardization Meeting and the Skydiving Technology Advancement Roundup (STAR) Awards competition that were to be held in conjunction with it.The USPA Board of Directors Meeting will continue as planned on Friday, August 27 through Sunday, August 29, in Cincinnati, Ohio, including the General Membership Meeting Friday evening. USPA plans to provide a virtual online experience in September for the 2021 STAR Awards. Finalists will have the opportunity to demonstrate their products online and compete for a $1,000 cash prize and attention from potential investors. Stay tuned for information about participating in or watching this exciting competition. USPA is exploring options for rescheduling the Standardization Meeting originally scheduled for September 3-5. Participants may choose from the remaining three meetings taking place in 2021 or contact USPA Director of Safety and Training Ron Bell at safety@uspa.org for more information about rescheduling options for the Cincinnati event.
