The primary purpose of the Executive Committee is to conduct association business and make policy decisions when the full board is not in session. The Executive Committee is a special committee elected by the board which is composed of six members of the board, including the USPA chairman of the board, president, vice president, treasurer, secretary, and one member-at-large. The Executive Committee conducts association business and make policy decisions through interim actions when the full board is not in session. The committee is authorized by the board to serve in this capacity, subject to board approval for each decision made as an interim action.

The purposes of the Safety & Training Committee of the USPA Board of Directors are:

• keep the Basic Safety Requirements and training recommendations current and consistent with prevailing equipment procedures, techniques, and knowledge in skydiving
• keep abreast of current events, techniques, and equipment affecting safety and training, and publishes guidance to the membership
• keep current on accidents and fatalities in the sport, analyzes for cause, and publishes summaries in Parachutist magazine
• supervise and provide guidance and direction to the Safety & Training Advisor (S&TA) program
• establish criteria for licensing of skydivers and ensures smooth functioning of the program
• establish criteria for certifying USPA Coaches, Instructors, and Examiners and ensures smooth functioning of the program
• review training materials other aids for the training of skydivers

The Group Membership Committee is responsible for supporting skydiving schools, centers and clubs as members in the Group Member and Foreign Affiliate programs. The purpose of Group Membership and Foreign Affiliation is to establish a business and professional relationship that strengthens the bonds of unity within the skydiving community and enhances the growth of the sport. Such membership will aid in the prompt channeling of information about local problems, regional attitudes, and trends to USPA, assisting USPA in promoting and defending the sport, more effectively represent skydiving, provide improved member services, and assist the members to speak with a stronger and more unified voice.

The responsibility of the Governance Committee is to ensure that the By-Laws and other rules of USPA carry out the objectives of the corporation in accordance with the certificate and law. The committee keeps the certificate of incorporation, by-laws, and regulations up to date, maintains the Governance Manual, and monitors the publication of all corporate regulations and publications. The committee is charged with the responsibility of presenting to the members candidates that meet the requirements set forth in the Elections Section.
