USPA Regions

USPA is divided geographically into 14 regions. Each region has a Regional Director elected every three years by members within that region to serve on the USPA Board. The USPA Board also includes eight National Directors, elected by all USPA members. Nearly all drop zones have at least one USPA Safety & Training Advisor (S&TA) who is appointed by and serves as the direct link to their Regional Director. The S&TA is a local jumper who is available on your drop zone to provide administrative services and information.

USPA members can request exceptions to USPA policies for reasons of hardship or in the interest of development of new technology. Follow the procedures outlined in Skydiver's Information Manual Section 2-2 and complete a USPA Waiver Request For Board Consideration.

Between the meetings of the USPA Board, held twice each year, USPA's administrative staff conducts the day-to-day business of the organization. The USPA Board hires the Executive Director, who assumes all the various responsibilities and duties assigned by the USPA Board. The Executive Director, in turn, hires the staff, which operates from USPA Headquarters, in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

In addition to the Regions depicted on this map, members may alternatively have their Region designated as "International" or as "U.S. Territory/Armed Forces."
